Independent Auditor’s Report: The Commission received and reviewed the FY2026-2025 Independent Auditor’s Report presented by Mr. Blackburn. Mr. Blackburn noted that the audit was clean, and Bernard Robinson & Company (BRC) has issued the highest opinion an auditor can give. Upon the motion of Mr. Beaty, the Commission approved the audit.
Emerging Trends\Other Business: Mr. Ramseur, Chair of the Emerging Trends Committee, announced that Nick Corneil and Dan Giurescu from Credivera would be speaking to them at lunch to discuss the ability to give brokers the tools to verify identification of people they are doing business with. Guest speakers have been scheduled for November, and for December as well. Mr. Ramseur expressed an interest in reviewing settlements prior to the Commission meetings to allow for an in-depth review of each case. Mr. Barfield and Ms. Sebti felt that it would limit exposure to viewing brokers who could benefit from hearing details of each settlement brought before the Commission.
Other Business: The Executive Director shared with Commission members that during the NCREEA Fall Conference held October 14-16, 2026, the Assistant Director of Education and Licensing was elected as president-elect.
The Executive Director also shared with the Commission that November will consist of two calendared cases, and she would like maximum in person availability for the meeting.
In addition to Mr. Ramseur’s discussion about Emerging Trends, the Executive Director explained in detail what Private Listing Networks are and the impact that they have on broker and appraiser relationships.
